Summer Start

This summer, SU students will start gathering "baseline data" -- including the height and girth of the plants in their first growing season here. In the future, students will continue to measure plant growth and look at other data, such as rates of photosynthesis and how much water the plants use.

Varieties in Threes

The garden was planted last fall with 33 different species of trees and shrubs. Researchers put in three plants of each species -- one acclimated to Central New York and two from regions that are warmer -- to see which will grow better here.
